VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A pedestrian was killed Wednesday night in a crash on Centerville Turnpike in Virginia Beach. Police say the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating.
The pedestrian-involved crash was reported just before 9 p.m. in the 1900 block of Centerville Turnpike.
Officers found the pedestrian when they arrived. Police say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say the identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The Virginia Beach Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the crash.
