An involved officer called in an incident in which a truck crashed into a bicyclist before crashing into the back of a Virginia Beach patrol car.
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A bicyclist and an officer are injured after a crash in Virginia Beach very early Saturday.
Virginia Beach police say an involved officer called in an incident in which a truck crashed into a bicyclist on Bonney Road before crashing into the back of a Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) patrol vehicle around 2:10 a.m.
The bicyclist and the officer involved have non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The VBPD Traffic Safety Unit is investigating. VBPD did not release any other details about the incident such as if charges will be filed.
